Chinese Company to Run U.K. Internet Censorship.

   The fact that the Chinese were invited to assist the U.K. with their censorship attempts, starts rumors that it's not just about "porn", but it's just the beginning of what will be Chinese-style censorship of the internet and an end to open information flow regarding news, events and common speech on blogs regarding politics.

   I urge Americans to FIGHT ANY attempt to install an internet censorship program in America. I see the internet as a matter of free speech. ANY attempt to censor it is an attack on our 1st Amendment Rights!

   As defined by the Official Terrorism Training For Law Enforcement:

   Extreme force and violence perpetrated by
   the people government of a country, within that country,
   for the purpose of coercing its government and population public
   into modifying its behavior"

   Of course there's the little detail that anyone in Britain can opt IN to having porn on their computers. Choice and all that.

   Idea is likely stupid since kids will just figure out how to get around blocks, but hey...

   Of course there's the little detail that anyone in Britain can opt IN to having porn on their computers. Choice and all that.

   Idea is likely stupid since kids will just figure out how to get around blocks, but hey...

   The idea CHF is to put the physical capability to block anything in place. Once the gate is built, the govt can then start making rules regarding every site. I believe that the govt has no business interjecting themselves in ANY part of the internet with the exception of their own sites and gateways, AND EVEN THEN, I believe the govt should be allowing access to 99% of their documents. There is very little reason to "classify" information from the public, however, the govt now is classifying WAY too much these days.

   The govt today is too secret, too controlling, too intrusive and, without a doubt, TOO BIG!

   So it's a slippery slope argument you're making. Because the gummint 'classifying' A-T-M 1080 p footage as unsuitable for 8 year olds is going to rock the foundations of civilization.
