The 35th World Military Judo Championship of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) took place between June 29 and July 7. CISM is a transnational organization, based in Brussels and created in 1948 with the purpose of promoting peace and friendship between members of military institutions through sports.

The Brazilian Military team earned 14 medals in the championship?s 15 categories, with a total of six gold, seven silver and one bronze, and ranking in first place for the female team and second place for the male team categories. Brazilian athlete Maria Portela was also awarded for best in competition.

The success achieved by the Brazilian Military team is the result of preparations for the Military World Games in South Korea and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
