Apple Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader
If you have an ipad mini or a 4th generation ipad then you will notice that you have a lightening adapter rather than a USB one. I bought one of these so that I could easily put my photos from my digital camera on to the ipad. It is brilliant because as soon as I insert the lightening adapter with the SD card in the reader, the ipad automatically opens the photos app and you can select with photos and videos you want to import.
Once you have them on your ipad you can then put them in folders and arrange them. If you then sync your ipad with your laptop, you can then transfer all the photos and files on to the computer and free up space on the ipad. This is a great tool and one I have played with a lot. I consider it to be such a wise purchase.
I know that Apple overcharge for their products and this one is no exception.
The adapter is Apple branded and it comes in the signature white colour. At one end there is a white plastic card reader and this is linked to the lightening adapter but a small white cord.
The adapter cost me ?19.99 and I can't remember where I bought it from but it was a physical shop rather than online and I think it was a mobile phone shop. There are similar products from none apple companies but if you use any other products with your ipad that are not apple approved then you are risking your warranty.
What I like most about this is that it is really useful. I love being able to transfer photos like this and it takes next to no time to do it. I was really pleased with how long it took to transfer my files and it does not take long at all. I like how small it is as it fits neatly with the other ipad additions.
The lead is short but having a long flex lead is not needed, to be quite frank a simple card reader that stuck in the side of the ipad would suffice. Overall, the fact that this works so well, it is quick and reliable means that I will be giving this 5 out of 5. It is expensive but if you are prepared to pay for an ipad then you have to accept high costs for the accessories.
