Wall Street's candidate is racking in money from the richest contributors -- more particularly, the finance, insurance and real estate sectors. ?On Tuesday, the Romney Campaign sent its campaign finance documents to the FEC. ?According to Open Secrets, a political money watchdog web site, $2 out of every $11 Romney raised came from those three sectors.
"These interests doled out more than $4.3 million to Romney in the final three months of the year, a period during which Romney raised about $24 million," Michael Beckel of Open Secrets wrote. ?"As of the end of December, Romney has now collected a total of $12.2 million from the people and political action committees within the finance, insurance and real estate sector -- or about 22 percent of the $56 million he has raised."
In comparing Wall Street donations to Romney versus those to Obama, let's take a firm like Goldman & Sachs for example. ?By nearly an eight to one margin, gifts from Goldman & Sachs went?to Romney over Obama.
